OWEN @ ONE WEEK

I can't believe its been a week already!

Owen has been the sweetest little boy ever. He slept good at night...until last night :( and hardly ever cries.

He will just lay there in your arms wide awake and just stare at you or around the room without making a peep.

Olivia LOVES LOVES LOVES him! She loves doing big sister things for him. Finding things and "watching him" while I go to the bathroom or do something else.

His nursing is okay.... I have to remind myself its just the first weeks that are hard. If I can make it to 6 weeks its smooth sailing from there on out. But the bottle sound soooooo easy and good right now!

He looks just like Josh to me. Everyone has their different opinion just like they did with olivia. So i guess we just make a good enough mix it's hard to tell!

The only really hard part of having a baby is having Josh be in the middle of his last 3 weeks of school. Which means he gets to see us for about 15-20 min a day. And with my first week or so baby blues, has made for some very fun days without him.

We just are in love with Owen. He is the cutest sweetest thing in the whole wide world, and it's been one of the best weeks ever!

I have a new love for the 14th of November, My first love was started by being sealed to the love of my life 5 years ago! The second was welcoming our beautiful baby Owen to our family!

His birth was a little more thought out and planned than Olivia's.
Dr Heath check me at 35 weeks and I was dilated to a 3. I told him how we were a little worried about having a spontanious labor, since we have Olivia to think about this time and we didn't have anyone to take her if I went in the middle of the night like I did last time. He told me if we didn't have the baby before then, he would gladly induce me at 39 weeks.

I made it to 36 weeks, and 37 weeks, and 38 weeks (which he told me he wouldn't be surprised to see me that weekend having the baby), then at my 39 week appointment on WED he said I was still the same as i had been for a month :( We kindly reminded him that he told us he would take the baby early if I made it this long. He left the room while I got dressed and then came back in and told us I was scheduled for friday morning at 2 A.M.!!!! That was less than a day away!!!

We left with HUGE smiles on our faces and went and made plans for Olivia to go sleep over and Tyson and Lori's house while we had our baby!!!!

We decided to get some sleep before going in and headed to bed around 9 that night. Who was I kidding! There was no way I could sleep knowing what was coming. So, with no sleep, Josh and I drove into Cedar and checked in at the hospital.

Once I was all setteled in, they came and gave me my IV and set me up on pit. By 5 am I was ready for my epidural. It worked perfectly. I got SUPER sick the whole time I was in labor and dizzy :( It was no fun at all. I think that might have been the worst part of having the baby...... or the IV..... um I guess getting the epidural was right up there with the other two :)

7:30 rolled around and our Dr came in to break my water, I still hadn't changed even with all the pit they were pumping into me. I was at a 4+ and stayed that way for the next hour.

My Mom, Dad, and Jessica all came up to help welcome our little guy. Jess was super good at getting the Nurse to turn up the pit and getting her to check me more often! The last time she asked her to check me I think the nurse had had enough and told us she would come back in an hour and check me :(

About 45 min later, even though I was super numb from the epidural and hadn't felt one contraction, I about doubled over in pain from feeling a contraction. Evidently my mom can make sense of those little contraction lines and told me the baby's head was coming down.... after two more horrible contractions I started to shake like crazy. My Mom got a huge smile on her face and told me I was transitioning and she was going to find a nurse. I could kinda tell the nurse was sick of us finding her and told my mom she said she would come back in 15 min and I was sure she was going to tell me I was just a 5+! Mom heard nothing I said and ran out to find her. While our nurse was nowhere to be seen she did find this awesome nurse who came in. She checked me and said..... "yep! 5+!" I was sooo dissapointed. Then announced "just kidding your complete!"

Our nurse finally came in and had me try pushing to see how close the baby was. After one push she told me to Stop and ran and called our dr.

His office is right across the street so he was only a few min.
I loved the hype of them getting everything ready in a hurry. He came in and suited up and had me push. I was soooo tired from no sleep, the epidural, and being sick that I could only hold a push for 5 or 6 sec before I gave out. So I was very suprised that after the second push everyone announced there was his head.
I asked if they could just see the top and Josh looked and me with a huge smile and told me that his head was out!!
Two more small pushes and they laid him on my tummy and let Josh cut the cord.

I loved that they never took him from me. They saved all the weighing and shots and stuff for after i fed him.
I was heaven just holding my baby skin to skin and not having somebody take him from me.

He stole my heart from the
moment I met him!

P.s. Sorry if the pictures are too much for some..... but I love all of them:)

I was having a really hard time with the Epidural. Josh was so good to me.

And again! He sat there and played with my hair to help my nausea

His Nose and lips were really bruised when he came out :(

Owen just stared at me after I got him. It was pretty special!

Jess got my nails all done so they would look cute that day :) sisters are great!

I LOVED having them here with us! It was a pretty special day.
